德國斯圖加特大學(xué)輕結(jié)構(gòu)設(shè)計與構(gòu)造研究所（以下簡稱ILEK）在研究及教學(xué)方面融合了建筑學(xué)領(lǐng)域的多個緯度，包括建筑設(shè)計、工程領(lǐng)域分析、建造及材料科學(xué)。
In both its research and its teaching activities, the Institute for Lightweight Structures and Conceptual Design (ILEK) at the University of Stuttgart merges the architectural subject areas of design and form with the engineering fields of analysis, construction, and material science.

遵循跨學(xué)科的研究方法及理念，ILEK致力于各類建造技術(shù)及結(jié)構(gòu)體系的多材料發(fā)展研究，所涉獵研究的材料從紡織品、玻璃構(gòu)造到鋼結(jié)構(gòu)里的新型材料、預(yù)應(yīng)力混凝土結(jié)構(gòu)設(shè)計、甚至是能適應(yīng)多種體系的超輕質(zhì)結(jié)構(gòu)。
Following a highly interdisciplinary approach, the institute focuses on the conceptual and crossmaterial development of all types of building technologies and structural systems.The scope of work spans from textile and glass construction, to new possibilities in steel and pre-stressed concrete design, to ultra-lightweight structures using adaptive systems.

從建筑單體細節(jié)到整體體系，ILEK的目標(biāo)是在節(jié)能節(jié)材、經(jīng)久耐用、追求可回收利用及環(huán)境可持續(xù)發(fā)展的基礎(chǔ)上不斷優(yōu)化建筑的形式及結(jié)構(gòu)。
From the individual details to the overall system, the aim is to optimize form and structure with respect to energy and resource consumption, durability and reliability, recycling potential and environmental sustainability.

此項目標(biāo)成功的關(guān)鍵點在于積極的與其他國際性領(lǐng)先研究院加強交流融合，同時尋求與更多的行業(yè)伙伴開展合作。
Vital to the success of this approach is the integration of the institute in an active international network with other leading research and teaching institutions, as well as the collaboration with numerous industry partners.
